I like to think we have evolved past animals, so any excuse of "animals do it, we should too" is silly to me. Animals also kill one another and often eat their own species, does that mean we should accept those practices? Should we go back to living in the jungle because animals do it?
Furthermore, there are many vegetarian animals that dont eat meat, so that makes that point even more mute.
I have been a vegetarian for over a year now. To be honest I really havent made a conscious decision to change my diet it kind of happened automatically. If Im not eating meat I fill that void with more vegetables simply because I am hungry, or tofu, bean curd, or veggie meat.
In regards to my health I can honestly say I have never felt better or stronger. I have more energy than ever, I require less sleep to function, Im sick less often, Im happier, and I see now that meat used to kind of slow me down, make me sluggish, it is hard to explain. Also a positive effect I have noticed is that everything else tastes better now. When I ate meat all vegetables tasted similar or almost the same, it was meat, and then everything else, but now I can taste a real difference in everything else (sweets too) and enjoy them more.
Most importantly and something every man would appreciate, Im fucking like I am 17 again. I mean I can go for a couple hours, cum, have a drink of water and Im ready to go again.
If you want to eat meat, cool go for it. In my opinion I feel no need to eat meat or support the mass production of life created simply to kill it for food, if being a vegetarian is a) a suitable way to sustain my own life and b) actually better for me.
