No, the pic of Masta with his arm around the bimbos, that's what upset him. Me, too, I might add. We have zero tolerance of bimbos in Kenya.

But, yeah, I've been disgusted by most of your racist posts, not because they're racist but because they're not funny. That then makes them only racist.

From the picture thread:

So here we have you admitting the humor is recycled and stupid (not funny), but that you enjoy the racism. It's not that everyone's sense of humor is different in this case. It's that your sense of humor is different from everyone's because you enjoy the racism and most don't. To enjoy racism you have to be racist. I can laugh at something stereotyping a group of people if it's funny and not mean-spirited and dumb. But your stuff is all one-track, mean spirited, and just plain dumb. It wouldn't be funny or okay even if you were black. Just because every black person, or every other person, on the board doesn't leave over it doesn't mean it's okay. I'm not going to leave over one person's posts. I just move past it as soon as I see it, like road kill. But it still stinks up the road every time.
At what point does it change from stereotyping to racism? More importantly, how do you know i have bad intentions when posting the images? I'd say it's pretty hard to tell, at best and at least, in my situation. Where do I call for action to be taken against a certain group of people? And no one on here could know this, but I've never taken action or acted upon this perceived" racism in real life, let alone on the internet. Posting a bunch of images or saying "nigger" here or there isn't really calling for the killing of someone, the oppression of someone, etc. If I say a word here or there, it's not to get a laugh out of the board. The word "coon" has just become desensitized to me when using it, and I never think of a black person when I say "you fucking coon" in everyday conversation. It's no different than the gay references on here or the use of the word "faggot" on here. No one takes issues with that. Whether it's meant to be funny or not, pretty sure more people kill themselves over being called a "faggot" than "nigger." Which isn't to downplay the meaning of either word, but it seems like we're realllly reaching for straws here if we're trying to stop racism but not other forms of bigotry. Especially when everyone on here has used racism in a "mean-spirited" nature at one point or another. For some members, I'd say there's propaganda against religions and some countries. But we're keeping silent on that, right?

Well I doubt it's the sole reason people leave. It's a myriad of reasons, with racism and religion bashing being one (two). I should hope that's apparent to all.
My point is, people started leaving while rules were still being enforced. The few Muslim members left before we let everyone wreak havoc on religion. I agree that relaxing rules on humor had a negative effect on some people but also had a positive effect on others.

No, I know. And I agree with the third sentence. But there's a difference between people who swear and people who use fuck as an adjective to every word. We all swear, but when someone says fuck as every second word, it's generally a huge turn off. Same goes with the coon stuff here.

I'm not saying Coonie is all that's evil and needs to be banned. I'm politely asking it be toned down. I'll still come here and read his posts regardless.

That sucks that Kobe left. He's been a consistently good poster.

Frankly, I think this place could use some serious moderation. That's not an indictment of any current mods because the problem is that there's no clarity coming from the top about what's acceptable or not. There's basically no rules to enforce anymore, because they haven't been enforced in the first place so people just say, "fuck it".

I propose a zero tolerance policy on racism. First a warning, posts edited/deleted, then a temp ban, then a permaban.

Sounds a little extreme perhaps but when people who have been here for over a decade are leaving because of consistent racism then that is a serious issue that needs to be immediately addressed.

I haven't seen a racist post in a long time. I don't remember the last one. Coonie's picture-jokes aren't racism.

Kobe left because his sense of humor hasn't adjusted for 2012 Internet. That's all. I tested him a few months back (might be a year) and his sense of humor is the one of our parents. I can't blame him, he doesn't live in the US and isn't surrounded by our liberal, immature, don't-hold-nothing-back humor. Just because some of Coonie's jokes lack taste and aren't funny to some of us doesn't mean they're racist. Anyway, Coonie said he'll tone it down and that's all. Let's move on now.

But he does live in the UK. And the humour in the UK is massively self deprecating.

I think he at some point lived in the UK but moved back to Kenya.

So, what we have here is two dudes with two different opinions. Someone investigate.

That's a subjective opinion. It's not up to you to define what someone feels is racist - especially someone OF that race.

Also, whether someone lives in the US is not is irrelevant. This board isn't even owned by an American. It's neither solely populated nor solely modded by Americans either.

"2012 Humour" isn't relevant either. Allow to me to illustrate.

As recently as 2011 (50 years later!!!) screening's of the 1961 movie "Breakfast At Tiffany's" have been protested. It's been ranked as THE most racist major motion picture ever made by even liberal websites like Complex.com - Why? Well, according to a recent petition:

This 1961 film features a blatantly-racist, minstrel-show, buck-toothed portrayal of a Japanese American, played by Mickey Rooney which has for decades offended the Asian-American community and its allies. Please boycott this film, the SyFy Movies with a View series, and let people know that despite direct communication from the NY Asian American community, the BBPC is committed to showing this horribly offensive film, which it calls a “beloved” “American classic”.
Hell, even Bruce Lee - a man who by all accounts was a very liberal person - walked out halfway through a screening of the movie at the time.

Now - please explain to me how the picture jokes differ?

EDouble, for some one who sends threatening private messages to people on this board, that you don't like because your ability to interpret sarcasm is atrocious, I think you should be the last person pointing blame at people.

But this works both ways. Sure, it might be haraam to them. But it sure as fuck ain't haraam to me.

*draws picture of Muhammad"
*gets bored*
*rips up drawing, throws it in bin*

As the famous quote says:

"What I eat don't make you shit"

In other words, the things I do shouldn't make a fucking difference to you. I'm not one of you. I'm an atheist, I hate all religions.

But I actually see masta's point when he said "They want us to be afraid of them".

I'm probably not going to get death threats if I publically state "Fuck Jesus", or "Fuck Buddha", etc.

But realistically I have to acknowledge that if I go out and say "Fuck Muhammad", there's some crazy ass motherfuckers out there that would wanna slice my head off just for saying that. And that's just a total overreaction on their part.

No other religions take it that far. Scientology harasses and bullies people. I've made some Sikhs angry in the past when I said "Fuck that coward-ass Bhindranwale the terrorist", because some of the militant Sikhs consider that fool a saint. But nobody else goes to that uber-sensitive "Jihad" level.

I mean, look at the South Park thing. And the Danish cartoon thing. They're fucking cartoons. Is it really THAT disrespectful that they have to go chickenshit crazy over it? Sure, the West might not have a proper understanding of Islam - but acting like that sure ain't gonna make things any better.
You couldn't be more wrong. I understand where South Park is coming from. I understand the subversive nature of their humor. South Park are ridiculing the fact that people are supposed to walk on eggshells when talking about Muslims, as well as ridiculing the right-wing Fox News types, and their complete ignorance of something like Islam.

I don't feel the need to walk on eggshells when it comes to Islam because I have Muslim friends who are progressive, forward thinking people. And they hate the fundamental part of Islam just as much as I do. OK, maybe not JUST as much, but we're on the same page. I don't hold my tongue when I talk to them about my feelings. Obviously I don't mock them either because they are my friends. But I don't hold back at all.

And clearly I'm a liberal and have nothing in common with the Fox News/Republican types. I don't support the wars in the Middle East and I don't support the West attacking Islam either.

My viewpoint is simple - Muslims in the West can't expect to get away with preaching radicalism and ideas that might work for them in Islamic countries, in the West where we believe in freedom of speech. I support my right to say what the fuck I want no matter who it might offend. That's MY right in MY society. If I go to an Arab country, I'll abide by the ways of their society whilst I'm there.
I think quoting your posts from the Mohammed thread should be enough to justify myself. If someone hates niggers and wants to say "niggers" then they have every right to do so. I'm not saying I feel the way in the aforementioned sentence, but if I do, then..."what I eat don't make you shit."
