What are the top 5 most wasted songs by amaru records that could have been hits

#42
I cant name 5, because theres alot....

Forget the talk about some OG's being looped and have shitty instrumentals, it still doesnt justify killing Fuck friendz, When thugz cry, Lil homies, etc.... (Last two doesnt really have bad beats, only compared to the Ogs)

Out of all tracks, Fuck Friendz stands out, i cant believe they remixed it... i dont want them to speak on how they couldnt get clearance on one of the MOST SAMPLED INSTRUMENTALs ever in hiphop probably, its just pathetic. I really hope someday a boxset with Og's would drop, so i could release some of the "hate" ive grown towards the people runnin Amaru.

One thing about e-40 is that he is a real gangsta
I might have read it on StreetHop a while back, but I remember reading something about Biggie doing a radio interview (probably at KMEL) and he was asked about certain rappers, and when E-40 came up, Biggie said he wasn't really feeling him. Supposedly while Biggie's car drove away after the interview, a bunch of cars surrounded him while driving, slowed him down, and handed him a cell phone with E-40 on the other line, ready to reply to Biggie's on-air opinions from earlier that day. Everything ended okay. (Remember, I read this somewhere, I'm not saying it's 100% true and accurate.)

Maybe Dante really is Suge Knight.
If that were true, Dante's spelling and grammar would be at a second-grade level, plus he would speak in incomplete sentence fragments, talking about giving back to the ghetto and absurd rumors about Dr. Dre. :p

Are you sure about that? What about the version with the chorus that goes: "In my life, big ballin'/ I hear the penetentiary callin'." ??
bad azz made the version we all thought to be the og (with that singing chorus) for his word on the streetz album, however the estate prohibited the release. when the track was released on bd, nutt-so said in several interviews that the lp version is the og, and bad azz simply got ahold of the acapella and inserted himself in place of nutt-so. there is an outro to the song that was cut from bd for whatever reason, where pac shouts out nutt-so, supporting his claims.

nutt-so was on the og, this much we know... but i don't believe that the bd version is the pure untouched og as nutt-so would like us to believe. just doesn't sound like a 96 beat to me at all.

Regarding Bad Azz, he released "Ghetto Star" on his album without Pac... same beat, same Bad Azz verses plus a new one or two... I have the CD single somewhere in my house, it has the full instrumental so it's nice to hear sometimes... I used to flow over it in high school.

And about the BD version, Go Twice is listed as the producer, who also did the first leaked clip of Don't Sleep... and they sound too much alike which further proves that the Ghetto Star beat had to have been re-done for retail release.

You don't know what the hell you're talking about and you obviously haven't heard the original of the song as there's no saxophone present, like Dante said. Saxophone was added to the OG.

Maybe you should actually listen to jazz music and rap music other than 2Pac and you might get a clue.

When dante said they added the saxophone after pac recorded the song he is saying that while pac was still living they added the sax to complete the beat with pacs help. There aint no og underground song withoput the saxophone laying around dante prolly hurd that sh*t somewhere on a on-line interview.

A lot of rappers lay down there verses first and with the help of the producer they finish the track. But no way would pac waste such deep lyrics on a song he wouldnt help finish or at least ok the final product.

I definently feel like this song needs to see daylight i think it would crossover like changes if marketed right. I mean not to many main stream artist would make a song dealing with abortion , struggling, fatherhood I mean come on yo

Man, I can't wait for the day I hear Who Do You Believe In on Hot 97....if that day ever comes. NY radio stations are all up on Biggie's dick. We need someone from the west coast to get over here and start givin us that real shit.
Well, Hot 97's music director's name is Ibro and he is from California just to let you know.

Well he hasn't been doin anything for the west coast. Game & Snoop are probably the only rappers from Cali that get any play over here. Other than that it's either east coast or down south.
Well I was just informing you, so you wouldn't make any assumptions about some westcoasts cat automatically holding it down 4 pac. He claims to be a big pac fan and is portrayed that way, but he doesn't seem to break any new music from him and at times is misinformed. I think he was responsible for breaking through "One Day At A Time" though, which radio stations across the country caught on to. And yeah, I think the westcoasts got a few pac haters-just a side mention.

Here's the version of "Words 2 My Firstborn" without the sax. Up until a few months ago I, too, had always thought the sax was part of the original, but then I got this one from somewhere on here where the poster said that this was the real OG. I don't know who's right but this one does seem like the real one to me (or at the very least a different take)

RETAIL

props to whoever uploaded this a few months ago...

Fuckin faggot. Neg repping you isnt enough. I must call you out. You obviously know nothing. People like you that act like they are so sure of something that they aren't really sure of, especially when trying to prove Dante wrong, should be banned instantly. It's obvious people like you are just scum and come here only to cause trouble.

hate much?

sorry to tell you, but dj quik produced the og and all subsequent remixes, and he also told me first hand how the story went. nuttso's first album actually has words sans (meaning without for you knuckleheads) sax, and yes, it's retail. the saxes were added in AFTER the song was recorded. i have a lot more info on the song, but then again, you're an ass.

Hot 97 only plays songs done by rappers from East Coast...and sometimes songs done by southern rappers. You can compare the playlist of Hot 97 (East) with the playlist of Power 106 (West),they are totally different.
