What restaurants are good around your areas, what sort of food is popular and where do you go?

Australia is really multiculturual so we have a lot. I think currently my girlfriend and I probably enjoy Indian restaurants the most but try all sorts, we go at least once a week.

Its funny. I went from wanting to party at every club I could, to wanting to drink at every bar I could, to now wanting to eat at every restaurant I can.

At this stage in my life, restaurants are a waste of money to me. I enjoy home-cooked food, and if there is no food at the house, there is always the local Jack in the Box or Mickey D's.

Our family is too poor for restaraunts, going to Taco Bell is considered a vacation :):thumb:
So why reply to a thread that obviously had nothing to do with you? If you're too young to enjoy eating out or just dont like it, this thread isnt aimed at you, dont reply.

mcdonalds is always a fav for me. i live off the dollar menu. $2.12 for a mc chicken, and med coke. in the morning, egg mcmuffin and coke for the same price. i love it.

as for real restaurants. a bunch of people from work and i would go to a local mexican place and get two for one margarittas after work all the time. mexican restaurants are always good to go with a bunch of people.

i love italian restaurants the most. i use to work a real nice one in st louis. they hand made their pasta everyday. best pasta i ever had.

I used to go to italian resturantes a lot when i used to live in germany. I also went to the occasional greek, spanish and chinese/asian/ resturaunts. Oh an also turkish food.

One thing i realized here in canada tho , from my experience, not many people go to resturaunts they just eat fast food. Unless you consider subway's a resturaunt lol.

oh and one thing i like to add there are soo many coorperate resturaunts arround here but i like the small "Mario's" resturaunts arround the corner. We had one down the street where i lived. it was pretty good and their family had anotehr resturaunt right beside it which was a more "take out" pizza place. Best pizza i have ever had and i even had pizza in italy that couldnt match it.

It does have to do with me. I like to go to McDonalds. It's considered a restaurant of some sort. I don't eat at Indian restaurants, I eat at an American fast food restaurant.

Thus this thread is NOT aimed at you.

Offtopic bullshit like this is what kills decent original threads and the board.

indian CAN be spicy, depends on the dish you get. it packs a lot of flavour though, they know their spices.

I've never been to an italian restaurant, being lactose intolerant 90% of the menu would be void for me

Origami is the only resaurant I like going. They serve Sushi and other Japanese food. The main reason for this is because of the people, the cultural connection is there obviously (I'm half Japanese) but I know a lot of people there including my sisters. My older sister has worked there for over 10 years so she pretty much runs the place. I always go back to the kitchen and tell the cooks to hook me up. lol The atmosphere there is great too, it's in downtown Minneaplis so it's in middle of everything... I usally go on a walk after eating and watch all the weirdos and give change or cigarettes to the bums.

Every once in a while I would stop in at a Chinese restaurant called Village Wok. It's a good place to go late at night after going to a club or a bar.

Besides that, I enjoy dining at all kinds of places if the food and the atmosphere is right.

edit: the first and the last part is a little contradicting so let me rephrase it - it's the only place I get excited about.

i like formal restaurants, with general types of "restaurant foods" if you wanna call it that, ex: steaks, pastas, fish dishes, chicken dishes,etc...

theres this nice restaurant here which is pretty huge, they got the formal area for eating, they have another section with wide screen TVs and tables, they got the bar going on in another part of the restaurant. in the basement they got cigars and billiards. in the back outside they got the swimming pool+hot tubs and another bar. pretty amazing place,i go there about once a week, you know to relax and have a mighty fine time, have a nice dinner, few drinks, maybe a swim lol.

I love going to Italian restaurants. Other restaurants you kind of have to be in the mood to go to, but with Italian food, I could eat it anytime (even though it's probably not the best health-wise). Also pretty much every other restaurant is Italian in my city. :)
