Yeah who's ever ever hitch hiked or picked up a hitch hiker ? Share your stories, i'll kick it off...

I was about 14 years old and I was with my mate who was 16, we had to get back home fast for some reason and my friend has a crippled leg so he didnt wanna walk or run for 20 mins, so we tried to hail a cab, the cabbie saw us and cut across a lane and slammed on the brakes and actually rear ended the car infront of him right in front of us.

Needless to say, despite my freind and his leg we both took off running and laughing up the street, a little further up the street was a pizza shop, so my mate went in and asked if we could get a lift with the delivery guy, the owner took pity on us and got the delivery guy to drop us off, but i was very uncomfortable about this to say the least...




Anyway nearly 10 years later, sometimes im driving around at night or whatever and I see the odd hitch hiker, and im always curious to pick them up, havent done it yet but i will sooner or later...has anyone done this ?

9 years ago when i was 16 i hitchhiked from seattle back to california.....it was hella fun.....i was always tellin my homie how great it was down there and how my homies would be hella cool with him so one day we said fuck it had about 100 bucks and packed up some shit and left........we started off by going to a town in washington that was like 100 miles away cuz you can gank clothes from the k mart hella easy so we went there empty handed and walked in went to the back and filled up two large duffle bags with everything we would neeed(dickies,t shirts shocks,underwear,toothpaste shampoo shit like that) we alos ganked about ten cartons of smokes and i got awalkman and hella
batterys.....we met some girls and ened up staying that night at there house...i ened up borrowing the following cassette tapes

so i had me some music i [played nonstop

we started off just taking bus after bus and ended up in near the sea tac airport where we decided to stay the night.....we met some more girls whos parents were out of town well we went to there house and partied that night.....the whole premise of stopping was so i could sell some bunk acid (yea i know i was a punk kid back then) so in the morning the girls wanted to buy some of the doses so i jacked them for 20 bucks lol and hit the bus we went to tacoma where i made a little more money and got a ride to the oregon border and got droped off about 1 in teh morning so we ran across the intersstate freeway and found a nice little place to sleep....we got up and went tothe greyhound station and hustled some people out of money by saying we were short on our bus ticket by this time we had about 250 bucks and we took a bus to the portland city limits and hitchiked to salem......then these crazy ass old hippies picked us up and they were drinkin smoking and just havinga good time driving like maniacs stopping at recycling centers to trade cans for money......well we rode with them all day and by nightfall they were wasted we ended up getting pulled over and the driver had a warrent and my boy had to drive the van to teh next town wich was i belive medford.....we ended up at truck stop where there was about 20-30 young guys there all wearing green kakis i guess they were putting outa wildfire in teh area it was nuts.....so we somehow ended up in eugene and we met a bunch of people and kicked it........we wanted to sleep outside so we went to a graveyard that was infested with young hippies and when we woke up there were tons of hippes slepping in teh graveyard.....so we left and we got a ride from this old guy who said his name was silver....he was cool he called himself the hitchhiker express and picked up two more hitchhikers along the way.....one was a really old hippy guy named ozone.....me and ozone talked for hours and they finally got dropped off and we satyed the night with silver at his house in teh town redding in cali. i was scared to be at this guys house he fed us but i kept thinking he spiked the food and was gonna rape us when we slept cuz the whole trip we met tons and tons of people who were like your gonna get hurt these dyas hitchiking.....we left in the morning and got a ride witha trucker to the bay.......so i had not even told anyone i was coming at this point i wanted it to be a surprise so i called my boy and was like wsup im back.....thety was goping nuts!!! they came and picked me up and we got some dank and had celebration after celebration and my boy wanted to keep going so he left and i stayed in cali for about 6 months before coming back to washington...... shit was cray though cuz i was in cali when i got the news pac died.....it was the funnest time i had in my life being out on teh open road city to city making contacts.....well about a year later im at the ferry terminal in seattle and who do i see but that old hippie guy ozone!! i mean what are the cahnces of running into somoen you met like almost 900 miles away a year later!!! it was cool as fuck.......ive also hopped trains down teh columbia river i used to hitchike all teh time before i got old.........good post and good times
