Why did Makaveli the album, only consist of 12 tracks?

kinda curious to why this is, since tupac did on average tend to release 15 songs to an album (well, sort of). and wouldnt this have been a better move for deathrow, to release more stuff on this album so that the tracks would be theres, not co-owned with amaru?

i thought the original had only 6 or 8 tracks
i think the reason he didnt plan on having a lot of tracks is, it was like intro to makaveli, keep people hungry for makaveli

The album was originally supposed to have 13 tracks, the 13th track being Friends. I think the album was released how Pac wanted it, so I don't really think whether or not this was a good move to put 12 tracks on it should be in question.

Diaz is right, besides its a solid album one of my favourite from Pac. Sometimes if you just try to beef an album up you could end up ruining the vibe it was on in the first place. It was a good move. Plus how was Suge to know anything about co-rights with Amaru when Pac hadnt died yet? The album was approved before his death.

I'm not entirely sure what the rationale would be behind throwing extra tracks on the album would have been anyway. I figure the same people would have bought the album whether it had 15 tracks or 9.

If the difference between someone buying that album is whether it has Friends or not, that person is an idiot.

LOL, this is true

also, I know some people hate on it, but I'll take Just Like Daddy over Friends any day.

Just Like Daddy was the only song Kadafi rapped on that album, so I'm glad it made the cut over Friends

although Friends is a better song

Kadafi is also on Hail Mary after Noble's verse... "when its on, then its on, we...." along with Fatal, but its really nothing big.

I don't think Friends woulda fit with it either.
It would've fit better than Toss It Up. At least Friends was recorded during the same time as the rest of the album. Remember, Toss It Up was added as the video single for the album once they decided Makaveli would be a big release and not an underground album.
