Nutritional Yeast Tofu

3 tbsp grapeseed oil (or other neutral tasting oil)
16 oz extra firm tofu, drained and patted dry
2/3 cup nutritional yeast
3/4 tsp of sea salt
1/4 tsp paprika

1. Slice tofu block in half lengthwise and then slice 1/4 inch thick (it'll yield about 16 pieces or so)
2. Mix nutritional yeast, sea salt and paprika in a large airtight glass container and set aside
3. Heat oil in a cast iron skillet on medium high heat
4. Spread 8 pieces of tofu in the oil and cook for five minutes on each side or until lightly golden brown
5. Use a slotted spatula to scoop out tofu, making sure most of the oil is drained (do not place on paper towel) and toss it in spice mixture. Seal container and shake until all pieces are evenly coated. Scoop tofu pieces out of mixture and set aside
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 with remaining tofu

Don't thank me, thank Buffy, fighting the demons of unhealthy food!

The 'nutritional' part isn't used as an adjective to describe yeast (as in 'I had a nutritional salad yesterday) it's the name of the product. "Nutritional yeast". It's produced in a specific way and it's different from regular yeast.

It's good to see you vegans aren't exempt from gullible marketing stories. That at least makes you normal people still.

Tofu doesn't taste all that bad. I know it's not meat but I treat it like a meat, since I usually eat it in Chinese food. I still tried to get a hold of Daiya cheese when I was back at home and there are Whole Foods stores everywhere. They have it, I was just too lazy to get it. Fuck it, I'll do it when I get home in a few weeks.

Tofu is alright. Can't say I prefer it over a honest slab of beef or a nice piece of chicken, but tofu is alright in it's own niche.

I like paneer better. My family makes a veggie burger with toast every morning. We got veggie everything, haha. Veggie bologna, bacon, sausage. It isn't that bad. Mainly for my mom and dad, though.

How is it a "marketing story"? You make it yourself. It's not some name made up by a corporation to sell you a pre-packaged product.

It's okay, it's my fault. I haven't listened enough to your nutritional enlightenedness. I have not taken your nutritional advice to heart and I have failed to listen to your nutritional music.

My unnutrified apologies.

I note your sarcasm but can find neither a specific point being made nor any humour.

That means your post has no value.

However, I implore that you take some initiative and subsequently, I await a more worthy response.

Yours,

Casey

I just wish 'healthy" food was more affordable. All these foods made with cheap sugar shit are $.99 and the expensive shit that won't give me cancer is so much more. They're the ones making me fat!

:(...no..it's me.
