Hey guys. After 11 years, I'm officially done with this forum.

On 'Our Block', the upsurge of racist content, use of racial slurs, racial epithets and racist images has simply gotten out of control. I've complained twice to moderators and nothing has been done about it. The thing with the interwebs is if you don't like something, you don't use it. Being from Kenya, as a black person I can't associate myself with such a forum. I'd rather be part of a heavily moderated dictatorial forum, where mods and forum members have 0 tolerance for racism in this day and age.

After that rant: I'd like to say a sincere thanks to all of you Bryant haters. You've kept it racism free in the NBA thread. This was my favorite forum section after the 2pac section. I wish all of you the best in everything you do.

PS: ArtsyGirl, I'll leave it to you to represent the Lakers from here on and. With Kobe Bryant's contract sucking and killing all available cap space, I don't expect it to be an easy task

My initial reaction to a post of this nature is to call the person and wimp and move on. But that's an unfair statement because I have not a fucking clue what it's like to be a black man living in Kenya amongst today's modern world. The racist stuff on here doesn't bother me; in fact, when done properly it's rather funny. But you over saturate us with it. I personally don't find it funny at all, I think it is a disgrace to your intelligence, but hey we all have a different sense of humour right? I guess what I'm saying is think twice about posting some retarded racist shit, if only for the sake of the board. I can't help but feel lame for making this post, but every time someone leaves this place becomes slightly more dull.

Yeah, I don't know. The way I see it, Islam is a choice you make, whereas being born a certain skin tone isn't a choice. And since religion is a stupid choice to make, it's ok to shit on the religion itself, but not ok to shit on the people. Though I'm guilty of later, no doubt.

& actually Kobe hit the nail on the head this board used to have a set of guidelines & zero tolerance was definitely included
he has been a member since 2001 - for all intents & purposes the beginning - and what has led to this situation and any of us leaving is unacceptable

Well I doubt it's the sole reason people leave. It's a myriad of reasons, with racism and religion bashing being one (two). I should hope that's apparent to all.

I don't agree with Racism or Islam bashing....

A lot of stuff has been left because of the small number of members remaining. Maybe moderation should happen and all offensive material removed. I don't mind discussion, this isn't Communist Russia, but offending people based on their creed, colour or religious view doesn't sit right with me.

I believe this new start should begin with a name change for Coonie, possibly.

It's that your sense of humor is different from everyone's because you enjoy the racism and most don't. To enjoy racism you have to be racist.
