It's still an unbelievably unsafe beta. It's not wise to use it as a primary system by now. It can also damage some of your files so don't open any important stuff on it.

I downloaded the ISO yesterday and am going to install it on my wife's laptop when I get back home from London (in the studio for the next 3 days doing new band tracks).

It might be an early beta, but ANYTHING is better than Vista. We've had an unbelievable amount of issues with that POS.

late 2009.

Windows 7 still looks and feels a lot like Vista though. I'm sure they'll keep working on that and all the bells and whistles will get developed at the finishing stage.

After you install it do a Windows Update and it wlll install the patches to fix that.

The issue was that it would corrupt MP3s with album cover information. But it has now been fixed.

I can't be worse than Vista can it? I don't if I'll get the new Windows 7. My laptop with Vista runs fine. There's no point for me to pay up for the new Windows

Apparently it is pretty much Vista but actually running smoothly. Also whoever bought Vista should be able to upgrade for free.

That's what i heard.

^thats cool for the frustrated Vista users.
....
Anyway,

I never really had a problem with XP.

But what i find strange is that after they work on some new shit, all of a sudden their older version of windows doesn't work properly...

Like for instance, I cant update my windows anymore...and my anti-virus shit wont fix it.

It says do it manually but it wont fix it.

I googled it and nothing.

I might try this new Windows 7 thing, but @ the same time im in no rush for it.

You know, my laptop is Vista has NEVER crashed. Infact the only crash I have ever had was with Half Life, and all i did to fix it was put it in standby and then take it out of standby and my computer was normal. My laptops current uptime is 39 Days, 6 Hours 14 Minutes. My record was 4 months and a few days, only turned it off because I went to America and took it with me.

I never really have any problems with my computers, had a few hardware problems but nothing caused by the OS. Whenever I fix computers because the client has a software issue, its normally because they've installed tonne of worthless shite on their computers full of malious coding and spyware. Alot of people just don't know how to look after their PCs properly.
