Considering two options... VOTE ON THE FATE OF THE FORUM

Im considering trying out two options after they were recently recommended to me.

I probably will not do both, it will either be one or the other, so would like you to vote.

The first option is an Uncensored forum, and I believe we had one for a while back when the forum first opened. This would mean that you'd be allowed to post whatever you wanted and it would go unmoderated. HOWEVER, racism would still not be tolerated.

The benefit of this is that it would allow the less mature members of this forum, or the bored ones, to blow off steam, diss one another, give one another head aches, and post porn.

However, if any of this spilled over to other parts of the forum, bans would be handed out.

I LOOK AT IT LIKE THIS: StreetHop.com is the staff members house, and we let you inside our home and expect you to follow our guidelines. An Uncensored forum would be left open to you guys to use as you see fit, like the street or when you were out in public. However, if your behavior warrants your peers to "call the police," moderators will still deal with you in the appropriate way. Perhaps a vote in that forum will be taken, a jury so to speak, to work out your punishment.

Im hoping that given a place to vent, morons like Da_Funk will stop polluting other threads with their bullshit.

The other option is making the Temptations forum, the VIP only porn forum, open to everybody.

This will purely be a trial thing, will pass based on the result of the vote, and like I said, regardless certain rules will still apply. No racism, no viruses, no spam.

Judging from the fact that you dont want it for porn, what is your reason behind wanting an Uncensored forum?

I don't think having a "uncensored forum" would be a good idea for SH, cuz it would give an opportunity for the immature members to really abuse the system.

Every time they're pissed they'll go all out and make threads about a member and diss the shit out of them. I understand that's the point of the forum, but it would lead to members making continuous threads about stupid shit with it just escalating and spreading all over the forums.

Every time someone would piss off another in any thread, they'd go in the forum, quote them, make a new thread and be like "_______ is a faggot" and etc. It'd be repetitive and it wouldn't go anywhere. It'd be like the beefing rule wouldn't apply anymore.

And before we know it racist and uncalled for shit would be said. The rep system would be misused (neg repping continously) and etc.

Temptations good be a good idea, but then again, they have all the porn tube channels all over the net for use.

So I vote for neither.

The point is to give members an input into the direction of the forum. When I have guests over at my house, I ask them what they'd like to drink, or what they'd like to watch, and we make the decision together, within the rules of my home (ie, no smoking indoors). Of course certain peoples opinions dont really count because of their previous actions and repeated banning, so Ill take their votes out of the totals anyway.

Believe me if there was someway to only allow the smart members of this forum to vote, Id have taken that option. But unfortunately in order to get the opinion of the SiGhs, the hizzles, the sebastians, the dukes, the carmis, the kecos, the sofis, the gottis, the mastas, the illmatics, the chronics, the farzins, etc etc, I have to put up with the votes from the bachos, the da_funs and the dillas too.

We don't need porn, or else we'll probably lose our female members too. No matter how much keco enjoys the feel of boobs.

a) They dont have to go in there
b) Most of the females are VIP members and get access to it anyway, and it doesnt drive them away
c) This is why they too get a vote

I don't see whats wrong with either.

If you have a beef, I.E. Bacho vs Dilla. They can often be entertaining. But it would hopefully go into the understanding that racial and religion slurs can be used...

I.e. something like, your pretty fucking gay for making stupid threads, and making a point by bringing up un-successful examples of threads into the argument.

We can have a BEEF forum for that. So it can also take it out of the discussions.

BEEF - Leave it there. PERIOD. In there there would be no rules (obviously), so people don't need to moderate that specific forum unless Child Porn was involved somehow...
More Simply, if you are offended by racial slurs, don't go in.

However, racial beef outside that particular forum will not be tolerated....its like a moderator having to say go make a thread, or move specific posts to that thread in the beef forum.

Some may say that all it would do is bring negativity, but the way some e-thugs here respond, it will just probably bring fire into making better threads...because they feel like they need to make a point.

The Porn thing...that's a different issue.

As someone said, it doesn't need to be instated b/c of the many sites that are already available. But honestly, there are many sites that just offer sex, and porn stars. But don't people post stuff from YouTUBE that didn't see it b4?

There are pics out there that are awesome but not really porn related. There have been many motivational posters i DIDN'T post b/c of the nudity in it. All it was was showing some girls tits in a pic, and her standing by oreo's with the caption that said, "Those oreo's look delicious." ...which I think was posted anyway after some editing was used. But I didn't bother. It took the fun out of it, and it just created more work for me, that i just didn't post it.

So its not like people would just post strictly porn either.

Furthermore,
Not many people have access to celebrity photos, or rare porn star shit. This can bring more reps for both guys and girls.

Who doesn't want to see the new celebrity sex tapes that come out every now and then? Porn fanatic or not, people want to see it out of curiosity.

Some can even be inviting to girls if we have a strictly girls section to post stuff where the woman is not feeling slutty, but for imaging. (I.E. Kim Kardashian in the latest playboy shoot.)

Now, if the porn had child porn shit or something, than that would be uncalled for @ all costs.

I am all for both, but we still need moderators...and if those 2 things attract more members and frequent members, then there probably should be MORE mods.

But since there is no BOTH option I honestly don't know what to vote for. Alas, I think both would do more good than harm.

As for your comment regarding the boobs motivational poster, boobs are not porn. What I always meant by no porn in Our Block is no XXX material that is designed to get someone off. But if you have a funny picture that involves a naked chick I dont see that as porn at all. There is a big difference between a funny topless photo and porn.

But perhaps the uncensored forum would help unblur those lines further.

Let's face it. Nobody downloads porn anymore these days and it's all about streaming. With that said Temptations would fail.

An uncensored forum is a nice idea. Even if you want to you can still post porn in there but it wouldn't be limited to just that.

This way moderators outside of that forum could be harsher on beefing members and direct them to the uncensored forum if they don't behave.

Is brining back the SHOUT BOX too much of a lag on the sever?
When we had it a while back, it acted like the lobby - we could park in there and wait for worthy threads to come along if we were bored. Friends could shit talk in there etc etc. I think it's a better alternative to an uncensored forum.
