I would! I wouldn't let asshole waiters keep me from my favorite restaurants. I would still tip a lot bc they share the tips with the kitchen staff and the food is soooo damn good. I've never had bad service in my favs tho. Usually it's at chain restaurants and can you really blame them??? They have cheap ass ppl leaving them $1 tip. Unless they really go out of their way to make my experience unpleasant I still tip.
Basically if there's a 26-29$ bill I'd pay 30$. Except that that's what Dukie said. If I really enjoy visiting a place or I find waiter to be really nice even if I get a 30$ bill I'd pay 35 or 40. Once when I was really satisfied with food and service I paid 50$ for a 27$ bill. It happened at my favorite restaurant.
You don't have to tip but I think it's what gentlemen do to show appreciation for good service. When I see someone getting a bill for 29.59 and taking all the change I think they are niggards

If the service is good, I tip greatly. If it's bad, I tip loose change.
I worked at a Hooter's one time, and the girls were only paid two dollars per hour, they literally survived on tips. I am really good friends with one of the girls, and if she didn't get enough in tips, she could lose her apartment. Then people would tip a dollar or something, it's bullshit. If I'm at a place where I know they work for tips, I'm more likely to tip. If my food is twenty dollars, i tip about six. No mathematics involved, I just do it.
But, if it takes 20 minutes to get a refill of my drink, then fuck them, they're not getting shit.
I've never tipped a barber, I figure paying whatever they determine you pay is good enough. I have tipped my tattoo guy before...I tipped him twenty bucks and later down the road he gave me an eighty dollar tattoo for forty bucks...can't beat that.

I tip regardless of the service. The amount of $ I tip depends on the service though. Waiters and bartenders are paid less because of tips. They don't make $ out of their wage. So I feel obligated to. However if the service is bad they'll receive small tip, if the service is good they'll receive good tip.

It's her $, she does what she wants with it and honestly it does sound very cheap of you to do so. Regardless of how you disagree with her choice. I wonder if you tip bartenders... and if so how much.

What you don't understand, is that we were tight on $ then. My mom looked sad b/c she couldn't really take us out or give us great Christmas presents, if any at all...and the dude was being all rude to her for asking to have no onions and other things. WTF? We are at a fucking restaurant. What if she's allergic to that shit?
Don't give my mom looks and put your hands on your hip and droop your shoulders then turn around quickly after the order. Then, when you bring the glasses, you give her Ice when she asked for none, and you give attitude because YOU forgot. It's not like my mom gave the dude attitude. She was all nice in her small voice, "OH, im sorry, but I said I didn't want Ice, can you get me another?"
So, for her looking sad during service that was supposed to be special to us, then wtf? Why leave the dude any $ at all? It's not like the place was busy, it was a good restuarant, but not busy at the time.
I'd rather buy my neices candy that they never get to get with the $5. Why not? They had good grades, and I said I bought them the candy b/c they try hard.
When I'm not even at a restaurant, and the service is good, I will put the change I got back in the small cup, just not necessarily go out of my way to make a tip from my wallet. But, if the service isn't good, fuck them. I'll even keep the change, put it in my lil brothers piggy bank instead.
I understand that the wage they get is smaller SOMETIMES (i know not all are smaller b/c my friend makes more money to start there than I made for the last job I was laid off at...*Get this, for making .35 more than minimum wage).
Not to mention, me buying shit there is demand, and it gives them more hours, shitty wage or not.
Sorry that I offend some of you guys, but I apparently was raised different and with a lot less $ to deal with. Sometimes, no toilet paper, having to find other means b/c pops left...
I don't think nothing you guys can say can convince me. If I get bad service, I use the $ i would have given on my family, my future (college) or give extra then I might have for the waiter that DOES give good service.

If you don't want to tip, go eat at McDonalds. It's common curiosity to tip for any SERVICE provided. Even if the quality of service was shitty, there should still be a tip...it just shouldn't be a massive one! Just something that would reflect that service. If the service was up to par, you should at least tip 15%-20%...and tip even more if you believe it was extraordinary.
To clarify, with every service you shouldn't expect to be tipping 15%-20% though...

But the whole idea of purposely leaving your sweater on the chair so you can go back to STEAL the server's tip that your MOTHER left is just pathetic. You probably didn't even buy your nieces candy...you probably don't even have nieces!! lol

Your mom felt as if something needed to be left, so it wasn't your business to go steal that shit. But out of curiosity, what did the bill come up to, and how much did your mom leave?

I tip delivery drivers heavily. I used to deliver pizza and they really get the shaft. They'll drive thirty miles to deliver something, and not even get the change that's left over. That's gas, mileage on your car, etc. that you're not getting paid for. Some people literally wanted every penny back. I wouldn't do it. I'd tell them I don't carry coin change, but if they'd like to go inside and count out 75 cents instead of letting me keep the god damn quarter, I'd be happy to wait.
But, if the driver is slow, they don't deserve a tip. We made excuses as to why we were late. Car problems, ha!

He asked if my manager knew how slow his employees are, I told him I made good time considering he lived about 10 miles away. He said he was calling my manager on me. I said ok. He said

He didn't tip me.

Who are you to decide what to do with the money your mother earned and decided to spend and tip the guy. I just know if my kids would steal the tips I left at restaurants because they don't agree I'd be pissed.
