The greatness of Rooney's goal is the speed and power. Nani crossed it in for Rooney to run onto. The ball took a deflection so it was then coming in behind Rooney. He stopped. Adjusted his body. And Bam.... Top corner. Power and technique. The perfect overhead kick. Only Mark hughes comes close. Wales against Spain. And that was a bicycle kick. Not overhead. And a half volley. But same power and technique.

I think Berbatov's is better. Berbatov controlled the ball beautifully with his thigh coming down off the air at an angle to tee it up for himself and put the ball right over his head in off the cross bar. and there was a lot of people around him too. It was a great piece of improvisation imo. goal of the season for me and thats saying alot since it was against liverpool and we lost. some of the defending in the build up to it was embarassing though.

Man Utd beat Wigan 4-0. well its some consolation that it pushes Wigan closer towards the championship. useless club. no business the premier league imo.

^No. Birmingham should've had a penalty and the keeper should've been sent off in the opening minutes. Same scenario last year with Villa and Man Utd, however Villa got the pen just not the red card.

im happy they won. mainly to see Carr lifting the cup and Fahey was also involved. Arsenal are a really spineless team though. i cant for the life of me see them going to the Nou Camp and holding on there.

i honestly think arsenal shouldve won. they didnt take all their chances, foster saved birmingham and they hung on. 2 goals were gifted; handed on a plate for them.

Funny thing with Fahey, the fans berate him all the time, but he almost became the hero.

Arsenal had the better chances, but down to 10 men and possibly a goal down, it would be different. Hitting the post and Zigic missing a sitter, it wasn't all one way traffic, for a good 20 minute spell Birmingham were battering Arsenal.

well tbf Gerrard did something similar a couple of seasons ago on Michael Brown and he got off with nothing even though it was clear as day he smashed him in the face.

i think England internationals seem to get special treatment especially the better ones. like Babel got a fine for a joke he made on twitter and Rooney hits a guy in the head and gets nothing.


and also Ashley Cole should also be hit with a fine at least for this air rifle incident.
