Hey you fucking pricks. It's World Cup Qualifying day. Be quiet in this thread. There are things more important than religion and atheism, and it's called European Football cocksuckers, Duke and God approves this message. lol

And whoever said the Croatia - Serbia conflict has to do with religion. LOL. Another couch-researcher talking about shit he doesn't know.

In the example above, I can, in fact, cite misinterpretation. People forget that as well as being a holy book, it is also a historical book. It is thousands of years old, written in a different time. The context of some elements are different. As an example, Muslims were allowed to be polygamists because in those times, many men were involved in war, and thus due to the shortage, polygamy was allowed in order to repopulate. Another example, Muslims having to wash themselves 5 times a day. This is purely for hygienic reasons, and makes sense when you apply it to a biblical context, as they had no sanitation back then.

Keep context in mind, and thus the text becomes more understandable. Reading it at face value prompts people to think it's OK to kill or whatever. They don't read between the lines and take these things into consideration, so ultimately it becomes twisted.
It is true that you have to keep in mind the time in which it was written in. Nonetheless does this argument in no way justify the shit thats written in it.

Actually, for something written or dictated by an angel/god who is all-knowing, all-wise and all-powerfull, the content should not be limited to the time it was revealed in.

Point: don't get bogged down in traditions, because that's not the point of faith and spirituality.
How can you label a paragraph out of one of the holy books being part of a tradition? Its not. Dont get things twisted.

I think that people shouldn't read it literally but you have a point here. I remember now that I've seen it discussed multiple times. And it's probably the most "hardcore" line though (along with a line about killing those who offend their mothers).

No, when Jesus was put to death, the Mosaic Laws were did away with. Jesus said the two greatest laws are "Love Jehovah God with all your heart & mind, and your neighbor" if you do this, then you could say you are obeying the 10 commandments.

Sabbath observance was given just to the nation of Israel as a sign between them and their heavenly Ruler, with whom they had come into covenant relationship. We have God’s own statement to this effect: “Six days may work be done, but on the seventh day is a sabbath of complete rest. No other nation of people before the days of Moses was sanctified or set apart for a holy purpose as were the Israelites. God required things of them that he required of no other people. “It was not with our forefathers that Jehovah concluded this covenant, but with us, all those of us alive here today.” (Deut. 5:3) The sabbath was a special sign of their relationship with Jehovah and a reminder of his deliverance of them from Egyptian bondage. “The Lord your God brought you out from there by a strong hand and an outstretched arm; that is why the Lord your God has commanded you to observe the sabbath day.” Deut. 5:15, AT.

For the nation of Israel the seventh day of the week was a divinely given sabbath that was to be observed for an indefinite length of time. Each week when the trumpet blasts announced the approach of the seventh day it was a joyous occasion, because the sabbath meant refreshment for their bodies and their spirit. The wholesome instruction and encouragement they received from Scriptural readings, holy conventions and prayer on that day uplifted them spiritually. While being a continual reminder of their miraculous deliverance from Egypt and of their unusual relationship with God as his chosen people, the sabbath also drew attention to God’s great rest day, the end of which will find his original purpose for man fully accomplished.

I agree that there are some things in the Bible that are either silly or not logic because they contradict other things. I blame those fuckers who decided which letters to add and which to remove from the Holy Books. There are many things later added to The Bible while there are also things that were confirmed to be real but for various reasons omitted.

We qualified, but we also had the smallest group. Still, it feels good to qualify by winning everthing.
