Maybe I do eat relatively healthy after all. I don't eat too fatty food. The occasional bag of chips, but only when watching TV shows or movies on my laptop. So once or twice a week.

The only thing I can really say I'm unhealthy with, as far as eating is sodium and fatty foods (when I do eat them). Then the cigs and lack of exercise may be another.

When you say "sick" do you mean not feeling well because of a virus? Something immune system related? I never know when I'm sick. I feel a bit tired for a few hours but after a nap, I'm fine. Never missed school or anything because of it.

Now digestive issues....well.. I do eat Taco Bell and Indian food often, so... I think cleaning my pipes that way is healthy.

/ You're eating shitty fast food meat on top of that and it ain't gonna help. Nobody enjoys being around people who have colds and are coughing and sneezing all the fucking time. I know I don't. Obviously that's extreme but shit, since I went vegetarian and now vegan, I just don't get sick. I didn't get sick once in the whole of 2009 and I had a mild cold earlier this year that lasted less than 2 days. Whereas the people I know eating KFC all the time are getting like 4-5 colds a year.
Well i aint a veggie and i never get sick. I aint had a cold or the flu in about 10 years.

I mean, we all get sick to some extent. Our immune systems usually take care of it before it gets bad. I haven't had it go bad for me a whole lot recently. I have never missed a day of high school because I was sick. Actually, make that middle school too. It was back in elementary school that I was out ever. Maybe three or four times. But we were kids. Who wasn't?

Wit the lifestyle I've lead in the past 3 months, I'm shocked that I didn't get sick. I think main reason is I was still getting ample sleep.

I never get sick and my immune system is reduced. I think that sickness is genetic. And a lot of people are drama queens who stay at home with a slight headache.

LOL @ this nonsense

This is just not true. It is not possible to be healthy if you eat meat.

Ok sarcasm over.

Casey was giving me the impression he thinks that meat eaters get sick a lot, i replied saying i aint had the cold or flu in 10 years and im a meat eater, so whats the problem? I was a veggie for 7 years, i never felt better or worse than when i ate meat.

I am healthier now than I was when I was vegetarian. Not because I eat meat now, but because I eat a BALANCED diet and exercise.

For the record I aim to consume about 400 to 500grams of protein and 4000 calories a day. This is simply something I can not do on a vegetarian diet.

Towards the end of being a vegetarian I was getting sick a LOT because I was weak. I wasn't getting enough of what I needed for my lifestyle. That isn't a problem anymore.

But that is MY body, other people are different, so you should find what works for YOU.

Yeah, balance is a HUGE part of being healthy. Also knowing what your body needs and getting that in for the day or at least close to the required amount of things like whole grains, protein, B vitamins, etc. I unfortunately know some vegetarians who stopped eating meat but now eat tons of starches, white pastas and cheeses instead.. extremely unhealthy. Not saying that's what you did... just saying you can certainly be unhealthy and a vegetarian.

That's a lot of protein. I was aiming for 200g.

Yeah, Ruk, I've never seen anything in the literature that would justify a bodybuilder taking more than 1.2 - 1.5 grams of protein per pound of body weight. Maybe if you're already at the top of your game and in competition you might do 2 g per pound, but for you, I can't see the reason to get more than 350 g a day at the high end. Are you going into competitive bodybuilding?

What I actually said was that if you eat shit all the time you get sick a lot. I was talking about the people I know who eat KFC, McDonalds, Burger King, Fish n Chips, Kebabs, Pizza Hut, stuff like that on a regular basis.

Do Jokerman's post remind anybody else of those cheesy self help people?
I don't use cheese; I'm a vegetarian. So my advice is cheese-less.

But there's a difference between what I do (make sense), and what a lot of these positive "law of attraction" people do (make none). You can see what's wrong with their advice in this spot-on review of the new book by the woman who wrote The Secret..

It's quite funny: Book Review: Rhonda Byrne's 'The Power' - Newsweek

Researchers in several countries, she writes, “have discovered that when water is exposed to positive words and feelings such as love and gratitude, the energy level of the water not only increases, but the structure of the water changes, making it perfectly harmonious ... When water is exposed to negative emotions, such as hate, the energy level of the water decreases and chaotic changes occur.”

Oh, ok. Did you also know that grass is green?
