Afeni could sell 'Pac's catalog

#1
This just came to me as I was thinking about the weak promotion of "Pac's Life" and reading some of the comments about it.And obviously it's not just the promotion, but the production, marketing, singles, shitty videos, all the way down to album titles(should've been "Ghetto Gospel"),and even album covers, posters, back of the album and the fuckin' cd booklets. It's like Amaru can do nothing right.I don't mean to be an Amaru hater because I'm am not usually so negative, and I am not one of those people that say we shouldn't buy his albums in protests and I still think had some good points. But, I am just saying that there are record labels that could have done better and Amaru is basically just a gang of amatuers with help from half a group of Outlawz who would have never sold more than 10,000 unit if they never rapped on a Tupac song.
Anyways, here's the plan...
I just wish there was a well known and respectable hip-hop artist and/or producer who could buy Pac's catalog from Afeni, but in a way where she would know that his music would be respected(even though the people running things at Amaru don't show the same respect). This is not such a radical idea, the rights to Elvis' brand name was just purchased from his estate recently and The Beatles catalog is owned by Michael Jackson.Courtney Love just sold the rights to Kurt Cobain's music for $50 milliona and Pac's catalog is far more extensive than Cobain's(even just the part Afeni owns).
Afeni would get an immediate buyout probably in the range of $75-$100 million because who ever bought the rights would have them for life. This would allow her to make TASF bigger than anyone could imagine with money left over to start other programs. There are a few people that could afford to buy his catalog and control it better than Amaru.Russell Simmons and Quincy Jones come to mind :) in fact, now that I think about it-Quincy would be perfect because his son could partner with him and help produce some of the tracks.QD3 did a great job with Thug Angel and he was one of Pac's favorites along with Johnny J.Also, right after Pac died,Quincy seemed like he was ready to do a lot of Pac related things like a feature film about Pac's life.

One more thing, I have to say something about Suge and Puffy.Say what u want about Mr. Diddy, but if he had as much Biggie material as Pac left behind Biggie would be killin' it.He would have a #1 album every 6 months for 20 years.Duets was a garbage album and Born Again was half garbage but Puffy didn't have shit to work with, he had to put guests on every song.Look what Amaru does, they put out an album with 10 songs,3 remixes and one verse Pac tracks when he has 100 songs left and all Suge does is put out an album remixing Pac's classic tracks done by producers that are like, still in production night school. In my mind, Suge having tha row hitters remix a Pac album is like going to the cosmetology school and getting a $2 haircut. That what you can expect, don't go to an amatuer and expect professional results.Oh, and the only other thing Suge does it put Pac on albums that move 30,000 units(Chronic 2000, Too Gansta For Radio, etc)

Suge is putting out remix albums because he doesn't have rights to release unreleased material. Only thing he has is All Eyez On Me and Makaveli. Damn, I hate when people talk shit about shit they don't know shit about.

The problem is, Afeni won't be too trusting of people outside of her circle, which is why she lets dipshits like the Outlawz oversee Pac's posthumous musical endeavors, and ultimately why those endeavors are among the worst performing of all of the posthumous efforts. TASF is Afeni's heart and soul, Tupac Resurrection was a great documentary, the accompanying book was terrific, the Tupac Shakur Legacy book was one of the best ideas ever, but the majority of the music (especially the recent releases) are all just mindless and horrible. While 80% of the hip-hop associated individuals in the industry could do a better job, Afeni won't give the reins to someone else, whether it's a musical genius like Dr. Dre or whoever. But I was very entertained by the idea of letting Quincy Jones oversee a project. Unfortunately, it won't happen, not as long as E.D.I. and Kastro are still alive and conscious. Plus no one with the bank account to buy the catalogue would want to do it... except 50 Cent, but we all know how most StreetHop people feel about him.

whos she gonna sell it to? I mean c'mon. The only logical thing for her to do is to just give all the shit away to all the playaz Makaveli worked with back in the day and let them work at it andmaybe give her some sort of royality. I can fee faggot Puffy wanting to buy it all.

The thing that is tricky is that out of every artist that has died and left some sort of catalogue, none of them can compare in sheer volume to Tupac's. However, none of these artists see there work getting butchered the way Tupac's is. It is time to stop releasing new albums, and release a quality box set and a call it a day.

Actually I know a lot of shit, especially when it comes to 2Pac shit, apparently more than you.

Suge does not own as much as Afeni, but he owns enough:
Your right Suge owns AEOM & DK7D but he also owns 50% of death-row era material.I don't know how that all breaks down and who was given what specific track, maybe Dante knows or something. But I know they were divided track by track. If you look in the GH booklet, it has the breakdown of tracks where it has an Amaru logo next to Changes and God Bless the dead and DR logo next to Troublesome because DR had the rights to that track. So let's break down how Suge has used some of the tracks exclusive to him.If you pay attention to what I said about Suge, I was very specific:First he puts out AEOM & DK7D remastered which was fine, he got a bump in record sales for doing it and a little more publicity for Pac.Then he has the row hitters remix those classics tracks into shit.Nu-Mixx Klazzicz is a bigger disgrace to 2Pac's legacy than LTTG. Suge could've waited for the right project to come along where he could get some dope producers to do remixes or get some all-star guest appearences on the songs, but he didn't and now he's basically wasted those classic songs on a bullshit album when the could have been used in other ways. Some other songs he had the rights to were "Fuck Friendz", "Who do u believe in", "Late night",& "Niggas Nature". These songs were all released by Death Row on compilation albums "Chronic 2000" and "Too Gansta For Radio". These albums sold maybe 100,000 units(I know TGFR sold 27,000 the first week). Thankfully, they were re-released on UTEOT & BD, some with different versions. He also also released other Pac verses on similary unsuccessful releases. So, Suge has had a hell of a lot to work with and he still has shit left, but unfortunately he hasn't done much for Pac's legacy either. At least Amaru keeps coming out with new shit that reaches a large audience.
P.S. I almost forgot Suge did one more thing with Pac's unreleased music:his sabotage of the Still I Rise album

the Outlawz were under contract to Death Row and the release was labeled as 2Pac+Outlawz(yet another retarded idea) and since it was an Amaru release Suge wasn't makin' any money off it and he was pissed so he tried to block the release sice the Outlawz were under contract. He also told interscope not to promote it. They still did promote it a little bit, but I'm sure there were some people intimidated by Suge that didn't want to promote it as much. The Outlawz sued Suge over this,so you can check my facts, this ain't just a rumor.
It just shows how Suge really never cared about 2Pac he only cares when he's making money off him.

Afeni will sell his catalog, when it becomes unprofitable for her.
She wants to hold unto it because she truly does believe in preserving his legacy.Unfortunately the people she has hired aren't doing a good job.If she did sell the catalog it would be extremely profitable.

You gotta remember that this isn't just some lady who inherited some music--this is all that she has left of her only son. She will never sell it, and I don't believe anyone should ask her too.

I would really never say what Afeni should or shouldn't do, but all I am saying is that she could. Not for the purposes of getting more money for herself but she could get enough money that she could complete TASF and devote her time to that as well as other charitable works which will represent 2Pac's legacy and help the kids that 'Pac never had the chance to.She could at the same time, put 'Pac's music in the hands of an experienced executive, who is better equipped at managing a record label and marketing its music.
