Secondly, Turkey have actually been to Euro's in recent years, when did Ireland last play in the Euros? 92? Turkey reached the semi finals of TWO major International tournaments in the last 10 years, Turkey have been in more recent international tournaments than Ireland.

Only thing Ireland have done better than Turkey in the past 20 years is finish 2nd in the WC groups whereas Turkey finished 3rd behind Spain and Bosnia.

They got trashed by a good team, that they shouldn't have been facing as they deserve to be seeds, whereas Ireland don't. What has Ireland done in recent years that is better than Turkey? Have Ireland ever finished 3rd at a World Cup? Have they ever been to a Euro semi final with about 12 fit players and still give Germany a good game?
