Better Dayz is a fuckin great album overall :thumb: , despite some of the OG being better.
:thumb: i love this album but it could have been a lot better if they put the OGs of never be peace, this life i lead and when we ride on our enemies on rather than those shitty remixes
never be peace OG pisses all over the remix

U Can Call (Feeling the beat on this one) - the best could of been better , this could of been a single if they did it right.

never be peace - changed the whole feeling of the song

other then a few tracks here n there it was a very good album , better then untill the end of time.

The thing is, a lot of the OGs sound the same, Never Be Peace, When We Ride On Our Enemies those tracks in OG form had blues song type beats, beats that sounded temporary. I like the fact that Better Dayz

Thats exactly how I feel, a lot of the og's beats were way to simple, they weren't complex enough, which also got me thinking. Most the beats from the OG's are most likely incomplete, they sound way to simple to be released that way, they still had to be touched up and tweaked for the final product. I mean cmon, none of the songs that Pac released while he we was alive were as simple as most OG's. They were still incomplete.

I think Pac just had the base part of the beat going, just so he can lay his lyrics down, and than they would come back to the song to do all of the touch ups and tweaks when they planned on releasing it.

I agree. I think some songs were complete, but many were unfinished beat wise. Pac worked too fast for all the beats to be exactly as he wanted. Most of the OGs have something in common, you notice how they all have a simple beat that just loops over and over (Military Mindz, This Life I Lead,) Most songs have beats with layers and don't loop as quickly as alot of the OG beats. You notice many of the beats go for about 2bars, then loop and start over. I think this was to get a quick idea of how the song was to go, but most importantly allow Pac to record as many songs as possible, just in case he had to go back to jail, etc.

Official releases from Pac, were mixed and had more depth (All Eyez on Me, Me Against the World) and had more layers. I think Pac would have kept some beats the same/just improved them, and possibly change others in '97, '98, etc. Just look at Makaveli album, how Pac kept going back and back, and adding layers/background elements, to get this album ready for release... I think he would have done similar as he got ready to release the OG songs that he put aside for 97, 98.

i have always loved thugz mansion, the beat is a postive bouncy beat that always makes me feel fine ecspecially when the blunt smoke is swirlin in my ride and as a matter of a fact the first four songs on disc two are the four of the thightest songs in a row that ive ever heard. I love this cd a lot. DISC 2 is leaps and bounds ahead of DISC 1

The only things i dont like is that TI shit and trick, fuck all that shit.

But, yes i agree, BETTER DAYZ is a classic

just because an ever worse album : loyal to the game was released, doesn't make better dayz any better. I dont like the way people jump bandwagons, i bet some of you disliked better dayz before loyal to the game was released. I think this is a horrible album that has 4-5 GOOD remixes overall and I stick by that. Some of u idiots are just listing the songs and writing "classic" next to it: stupid. Also the guy who thought never b peace remix is better, HAHAHAAHAAHAAAA :D

ok heres my view, bloded songs are the "classics" or very good songs.

Still Ballin - I like the beat, but editing of pac's words, removal of kurupt, and adding trick daddy's wack verse ruined this song.
When We Ride On Our Enemies - I prefer the OG by miles but I think they did ok with the beat, kept that warfare type feeling within the song.
Changed Man - another wack appearance and hook. although I think this is listenable though the beat can get annoying after a while.
Fuck em all - horrible, not even listenable with the chorus. Brilliant outlaw appearances with their slow retarded flows
Never Be Peace - No question that the OG is better, this beat doesn't fir at all. And danny boy's singing in the background makes the outro better.
Mama's Just A Little Girl - We have to call this a good song because we don't have an original to compare to. But I really like this remix, THIS song you can call a classic, pac's deep lyrics at their finest.
Street Fame - not a bad remix but OG much better
Late Night - left original for the most part therefore very good.
Watcha Gonna Do - the original beat was perfect for this, and did noble HONESTLY think adding himself on the chorus would sound tight? shits on the song.
Fair Xchange - No comment other than Absolutely Terrible.
Ghetto Star - Very good. Close to original I believe, shame about the outro.
My Block - good remix, I can see why other like it but I dont listen to it because of the chorus
Thugz Mansion - Another great remix, I can listen to the hook this time :)
Never Call You Bitch Again - I know i'll get slaughtered for this...Not good at all. Stupid hook ruins the song. Good job on the beat. The lyrics save this song and make you want to hear it again and again, though im very very glad og pella leaked.
Better Dayz - Very Good song.
U Can Call - AGAIN an extremely wack hook. Does not sound anything like a pac beat either.
Military Minds - listenable but og is better, remix lost the emotion og had.
Fame - I really am loving the beat. Noble + napolean is whack, kadafi and kastro r tight. They did ok with the hook considering where it came from :)
Catchin Feelins - horrible beat and appearances. I simply cannot understand why they couldnt have left the og beat, i bet people would love it even to this day.
There U Go - Hook isn't bad but theres a layer of the beat thats really annoying...cant explain what it is properly. also ALL the outlaw appearances have the same slow ass flow making this a poor song.
This Life I Lead - This isn't touching the og
Who Do you Believe In? - left original for the most part therefore very good.
They Don't Give A Fuck About Us - left original for the most part therefore very good.

so its only 5 high standard remixes...IN MY OPINION :thumb:

First of the first time I heard the intro lead in to Still Ballin, I was blown away. Definately a song to be pumpin full blast out of a car.
Fuck Em All - Fucking excellent song with an excellnt beat. Everyone who touches the mic just blows me away with the lyrics.
Military Minds - Great beat much better than the OG. The OG beat is very simple and boring. This remix runs over it. Especially on the outro.
Thugz Mansion Remix (ft Nas) - I aint never heard the OG but this shits on the Anthony Hamilton remix. Love the guitar beat and the chorus. The whole feel is much more deeper than the other one.
But the thing I hate about Better Dayz was the hidden outro on Disc 2. The "expect me like Jesus" shit. Just another way for Amaru to make monry off the alive theory.

:thumb: whew, I thought everyone lost their damn minds. It really seems like people are clinging to UTEOT and BD nowadays because of how shitty Loyal to the Fame was.

Still Ballin - Good start to the album, but this just doesn't work for me. Talk about repetitive. And annoying. And what was done vocal wise. Rejected.

Changed Man - Somewhat enjoyable. But sufers from the UTEOT shitty hook disease. Rejected.

Fuck em All - STFU Noble. Acceptable beat, and I like Kadafi and Kastro's verses. Get's a pass, barely.

Never B Peace - WTF is this? Sounds like someone in India produced it. It's like Words to my First Born Quik remix, where the beat is cool by itself but I'll be damned if it fits Pac's vocals. It's a shame such a track was ruined (and no that's not an overstatement you conservative bitches) Rejected.

Mama's just a lil' Girl - One of the better tracks on the album, love the last verse. Acceptable (until the original is leaked anyway).

Street Fame - Ranks up there with Hellrazor with the best remixes ever. The production is somewhat generic, unlike the original, but is still dope as hell. Piano is a little too loud as well.

Late Night - Cool.

Whatcha Gonna Do - STFU Noble. Perfect example of uncreative modern production. Horrible. Rejected.

Fair Xchange - One of the worst tracks released since his death. I don't know what else to say. Rejected.

Ghetto Star - This was nicely done and has a good guest spot, but I don't like it, at all. I'll leave it alone though.

My Block - Second really good remix off this album. The original was boring as fuck, despite great lyrics. This remix brung those out, but what the fuck are the kids doing on the chorus? Yeah, having 2pac talk about getting his first piece of pussy while kids are singing some sappy bullshit, great idea. The only logical answer to this is they wanted to make this a single and have Pac look like a "we are the World" type rapper a la Changes to bring in the pop fans. Acceptable though.

Thugz Mansion - Again, lackluster production, but it's decent and has an above average hook.

Never Call U Bitch Again - I like this, although it's as poppy as it can be pretty much. Acceptable.

Better Dayz - Impressive. One of the best tracks on the album.

U Can Call - This is corny as hell. Producers, stay off the fuckin' hooks, please.
Rejected.

Military Minds - This track wasn't meant to have a laid-back feel. It's supposed to get you pumped up. It'd be like adding a soft beat to Holler if Ya Hear Me. Not good. Predictable production by E.D.I.....has he ever done a beat without a guitar? Rejected.

Fame - Really dope until the 2:10 mark. STFU Noble. Kastro has a surprisingly good verse and Napoleon is OK, so it's acceptable.

Catchin' Feelins - By far the most annoying beat I've heard on any song. How anyone could listen to this and not lose their mind is a mystery to me. Not to mention the beat drown's the vocals. This is a disaster. Rejected.

There U Go - Stay off the chorus' you fucking uncreative hack. Other than that it's OK I guess.

This Life I Lead - lol, oh my God. What is this? The original was a banger and this is some soft bullshit. It just doesn't work. Nice job leaving the Pac shoutout's to Kurupt on there during an Outlaw verse (which is pussy shit by the way). Noble is one of the worst rappers ever. Napoleon, STFU with your gimmicky bullshit. Rejected.

Who Do U Believe In - Cool.

They Don't Give a Fuck About Us - Great track but it sounds dull as hell, not to mention the quality is pretty poor. Should've waited on releasing this.

Overall, this album was way more bad than good. If there was to be a worst Pac tracks of all time album, this would have at least 4 canidates. Couple of great tracks though, but no where near enough to classify as a "classic" IMO.

:thumb: You so right, that shit was horrible. When i first heard that shit i was like wtf is this, some ppl actually like Military mindz & Never be Peace (antfirex 2). Never be Peace is one of the worst remixes ever, that shit was str8 up garbage, i like to listen to a Britney Spears song better than Never be Peace remix. I'm glad we have the OG caus shit is str8 up fire. I can go on and on talking about every song but i made my point.

Conclusion:
Better Dayz is besides L2tg the worst CD from 2pac ever, this doesn't even come close to being an average album so it can NEVER be Classic, you must be krazy.
The OGs are tight of course and some of the remixes but most the remixes are fucked up.

'haha thats very homo of you to say...
Never be peace was pretty good... The og was better but it was a good track.
I like the better dayz cd ALOT actually... Deff a classic cd...
I also liked Until the end of Time, and Loyal to the Game.
Better Dayz was the best of the last 3 releases..
Id say Better Dayz, then Loyal to the Game, and then Until the end of time...
