i'm gonna step out on thin ice here for a while..
i believe that people shouldn't be offended by shit like people calling themselves hitler. why? because hitler lived 50 years ago. does ANYONE except old veterans from ww2 or jews have a direct or personal relation to hitler in any way? no. so why would people be offended? i'm going to give my personal opinion on something. i'm not going to be disrespectful, but i won't sugarcoat it so please, feel free to do whatever, but this is just an opinion: i believe that people who would be offended by something that does not have anything to do with them share the same weakness that people who are religious have. YES. i said it. i told you, that's my opinion. i believe religion is the source to a lot of evil. i believe religion is foolish. i believe giving yourself up to a god you have never seen is like buying a rolex from a guy you just met on the street. on the other hand, i realize that if it weren't for religion we wouldn't have many of the principal rules that we have today, but i believe that if you're really a part of the 21st century you should know better. why the fuck would someone be offended by an artist calling himself hitler? i can't think of one good reason why someone should be offended. because hitler was a bad man? this type of obstruction gives me associations to the likes of miss tucker who claimed rap music was offensive. if i want to say "fuck you motherfucking bitches, all you're good for is sticking my dick in you and pulling it out" i should be able to. if i want to say that i won't even look twice at a girl if she's not ultra fit, i should be able to. if i want to burp and stretch at the dinner table, i should be able to. not to say that i would, but traditional rules that serve no purpose are moronic, just like being anti-rap because it degrades women, just like saying someone shouldnt take on "hitler" as an artist name because it would offend people.
it's harsh, but i really do think that.
with that being said, i have never once seen mussolini's name written the way it was supposed to be written. maybe i'm wrong, but after skimming through the all eyez on me booklet i could not see the name "mussolini" anywhere. i think that by the time all eyez on me dropped, mussolini decided he wouldnt use that name afterall since he wasn't a part of the outlawz anymore, technically. it's possible that tupac and syke meant to spell it "mussalini" or "mussolyny" or whatever lol. all the members of the outlawz barring fatal and noble (whose name doesn't come from a dictator) took names from leaders but re-arranged or changed the spelling (machiavelli - makaveli, castro - young kastro, napoleon - napolean, etc.) so yeah, they didnt take on their names because they wanted to honor bad men. the names symbolized something. the outlaws portrayed themselves as ruthless - rough, rugged and raw.
